Reduce your CO₂ footprint and overall operational cost with Danfoss Heat Recovery Module for data centers
The Danfoss Heat Recovery Module helps to eliminate the technical challenges of managing heat recovery in data centers. The HRM is an integrated modular solution for heat recovery from the data center cooling system. Recovered heat can be sold to district heating grids or takers of industrial heat in the nearby area.
Unit controlling and monitoring
The HRM is packed with Danfoss Universal programmable controller - Alsmart®. It controls the heat recovery process and monitors all the unit’s operating parameters. The unit offers possibilities for external communication with Ethernet or serial communication using Modbus or BACnet protocols. Connecting units to the BMS ensures remote controlling, monitoring and alarm functionalities from the substation.
Construction and Installation
The HRM is designed as a standalone containerized heat transfer station and it is delivered in one piece, with the possibility to add additional modules connected in parallel. The enclosure is the size of a 40ft High Cube container, which allows the HRM to be transported without any special permits. Danfoss gasket plate heat exchangers increase substation performance and lifetime. The standard unit layout allows the connection piping to be prepared before the unit is delivered. Piping prepared with automatic welding machines ensures the highest possible welding quality.
Climate friendly solution
The HRM is environmentally friendly, and it significantly reduces data center CO₂ emissions. Export of the excess heat can also reduce the operational cost of the data center by reducing the need to use the cooling system. The cooling power need is limited to supply pumps, driven by recovered heat. Depending on the operational model, data center can gain an additional source of income as a heating provider.
Prefabrication ensures jobsite efficiency
The HRM is produced based on a 3D model prepared by our design department. All components, for example, heat exchangers, control valves, pumps and measuring equipment, are virtually connected with piping. Based on 3D-drawings, pipes are cut and welded with the support of automated machines, ensuring superior quality and short delivery times. Units are designed as modular constructions, which makes transportation and assembly easier. The HRM includes an electrical wired panel, which is functionally tested and ready to use after connecting the power supply on site.
Danfoss substation is a complete product: designed, produced, and tested – ready for use. Danfoss has more than 40 years of experience in the production of Heat Transfer Stations, which guarantees great functionality.
