iC7 Electrification Training

Tailored for Your Role

To ensure maximum relevance, our program segments participants into dedicated tracks based on job function:

For Design Engineers: Focuses on architecting, selecting, and optimizing Danfoss drive systems, covering detailed component selection, electrical schematics, and seamless integration.
For Commissioning Engineers: Provides hands-on expertise in installation, parameter setup, field testing, and troubleshooting to ensure flawless system startups and optimal performance.
For Aftermarket & Service Professionals: Equips you with essential skills for maintenance, fault diagnosis, preventative care, and efficient problem resolution throughout the product lifecycle.

Level 0: Onboarding iC7

Welcome to your essential first step in understanding Danfoss frequency converters! This online primer is designed to bring everyone to a common baseline, familiarizing you with Danfoss Drives products and their diverse application types in electrification and hybridization. By completing this self-study module before our in-person training at the MCC, you'll maximize your time with our trainers and accelerate your path to expertise. It's about ensuring an efficient and highly productive learning experience right from the start.

Level 1: Foundation iC7

Marks the true beginning of your journey into advanced drive system applications. This entry-level training is your "license to learn," providing the comprehensive knowledge needed for a deeper understanding of drive systems. You'll gain crucial insights into drive selection criteria, learning the how and why behind specific configurations. To effectively design, specify, and sell a drive system, you need to understand how each interface influences the mechanical and electrical design of the frequency converter panel. Such as: power distribution, transformers, asynchronous motors, permanent magnet motors, and battery systems. This level includes how our Danfoss products fit into configurations such as standalone AFE/INU drive systems, DC-grids, and hybrid designs from both a hardware and software perspective.

Level 2: Advanced Concepts iC7

Ready to truly master Danfoss drive products? Deep dive into the individual applications and detailed engineering of our solutions. This level offers a robust blend of hardware, software, and hands-on training designed to prepare you. You'll gain advanced knowledge in applications such as AFE, INU, DC/DC, DCGuard, Generator applications, and Grid Converter functionalities specifically for our Marine & Hybrid liquid-cooled iC7 portfolio. While we recommend completing Level 1 first, this level is also an ideal fit for well experienced users seeking advanced practical expertise.

Level 3: Specialization iC7

Exclusive opportunity to become a Danfoss Inside Expert. This advanced training is provided on request and is tailored for our most knowledgeable professionals. It's designed to facilitate direct engagement with Danfoss's key experts and peers, enabling you to deepen your knowledge through developer-focused discussions. Topics such as: Applications, Simulation, Remote monitoring, System level Common mode current, short circuit calculations, thermal calculations, cabinet design, EMC.

Editron Training

These trainings are designed for professionals working with Editron systems who are looking to strengthen their technical capabilities and practical know-how. There are two different levels where participants will gain a deeper understanding of Editron’s hardware, software, system possibilities and even commissioning and troubleshooting.

Whether you're new to Editron or looking to build on existing knowledge, these trainings provide a comprehensive and application-driven approach to mastering Editron technologies.

Level 1 Introduction training to Editron products

This training is intended for professionals seeking to expand their expertise in Danfoss Editron’s products. It covers the full range of Editron hardware: motors and converters and their possible options. In addition, there will be practical topics such as motor inverter commissioning and troubleshooting (basics).

Level 2 Editron Advanced training

This training is designed for professionals and structured to deepen your technical understanding of Editron hardware, software and their various applications. While it includes a comprehensive overview of the components, the primary emphasis is on real-world application scenarios and system-level design using Editron converters.

Participation in the Level 1 training is recommended for foundational context but not required. This training will cover all relevant topics in detail.

Will I receive a certificate upon completion of the training?

Yes. For all our trainings, we offer a certificate recognizing your achievement. If you have any further questions or need additional details about the certificate process, please do not hesitate to contact our support team.

How do I get there?

We recommend using the airport Oslo Airport Gardermoen. To travel to Holmestrand, please take the train from Gardermoen to Holmestrand station (1 hour and 25 minutes). From here, you can take a taxi from the station to Bentsrudveien 17, 3083 Holmestrand (7 minutes).

Where should I stay (hotels)?

We recommend staying at Quality Hotel Tønsberg (Tönsberg), located at Ollebukta 3, 3126 Tønsberg. The hotel is located approximately 30 minutes by car from the Marine Competence Center. When booking, please use Danfoss as a reference to get the Danfoss rate.
