Learning

Basic introduction to marine electrification

Join our basic introduction training and get an exclusive deep-dive into the world of marine electrification. This course is tailored to provide essential insights and skills. Our basic course is relevant for all professionals with an interest in drives and power converters for marine.

The training has a maximum capacity of 12 people attending. If fewer than 6 people are registered, we will reschedule the timing.

Content and duration

During the training, you will learn more about:

System design, applications, and components
VACON® NXP AFE/Grid Converter and how to facilitate load sharing
VACON® NXP DCGuard and how to utilize DC grids instead of AC grids to improve system efficiency and system footprint by up to 20%
VACON® NXP DC/DC Converter and how to help improve performance by making better use of energy

The training is two days, starts 8.30 and ends 16.00 both days. Please note that we will conduct 50 minute sessions and 10 minute breaks for all days.

Advanced learning focusing on design in the maritime industry

Embark on a journey in the maritime industry with our comprehensive course on advanced learning focusing on design in the maritime industry. This training is tailored for professionals seeking an in-depth understanding of design principles and practical applications within the maritime sector.

Designing solutions for electrification using drive systems in a Common DC setup
MyDrive® Select, to support dimensioning of drive systems
Insights into the latest technologies shaping the future of maritime design engineering
How to ensure that your designs meet marine-specific compliance requirements

This course is tailored for project engineers, electrical engineers, and commissioning engineers, with a deep-dive into the topics of commissioning and tuning of maritime electrification systems. Building upon your foundation of basic application knowledge of AC/DC and VACON DCGuard, you will gain insights and practical skills essential for ensuring optimal performance and efficiency within marine electrification.

The training has a maximum capacity of 10 people attending. If fewer than 5 people are registered, we will reschedule the timing.

During the training, you will learn more about:

Gain hands-on experience in configuring and fine-tuning electrical systems for optimal performance
How VACON DCGuard integrates with advanced maritime electrification systems
Practical simulations in commissioning and tuning maritime electrical systems

Will I receive a diploma upon completion of the training?

Yes. For all our trainings, we offer a diploma recognizing your achievement. If you have any further questions or need additional details about the diploma process, please do not hesitate to contact our support team.

How do I get there?

We recommend using the airport Oslo Airport Gardermoen. To travel to Holmestrand, please take the train from Gardermoen to Holmestrand station (1 hour and 25 minutes). From here, you can take a taxi from the station to Bentsrudveien 17, 3083 Holmestrand (7 minutes).

Where should I stay (hotels)?

We recommend staying at Quality Hotel Tønsberg (Tönsberg), located at Ollebukta 3, 3126 Tønsberg. The hotel is located approximately 30 minutes by car from the Marine Competence Center. When booking, please use Danfoss as a reference to get the Danfoss rate.
