ICME function modules with FKM seals for hydrocarbon applications
Expanded high-temperature compatibility for hydrocarbon heat pump applications
To meet demand for high-temperature heat pump applications using hydrocarbon refrigerants, Danfoss is introducing new ICME function modules with FKM seals. The new ICME modules are compatible with hydrocarbons and can operate continuously at temperatures up to 130°C.
Today, ICSE modules with FKM seals are already available for applications requiring hydrocarbon compatibility and continuous operation at higher temperatures.
Please note that both standard ICM and new ICME modules use the ICAD actuator and must not be used in explosive or potentially explosive zones.

Availability
ICME 20 function modules will be ready for ordering from the beginning of October.
ICME function modules in sizes 25 – 50 are already released.
VPN vapor injection compressors for R290 applications
Improved low-ambient heating performance with R290 vapor injection
Danfoss has introduced the new variable-speed VPN compressor series with vapor injection, based on the existing VZN R290 platform. The new models are designed to improve heating performance, support
low-ambient operation, and extend the operating envelope for R290 heating applications.
Vapor injection performance benefits
The VPN086, VPN104, VPN140, and VPN175 compressors include an injection port that enables vapor injection through connection to an intermediate heat exchanger. This design improves compressor performance and increases operating flexibility in demanding heating applications. Vapor injection technology provides several benefits for R290 heating applications. It increases heating capacity in low-ambient conditions, with the capacity boost becoming more significant as ambient temperatures decrease.
The technology also supports improved seasonal coefficient of performance (sCOP) across a wide range of heating applications. In addition, it extends the operating envelope in heating mode, especially in systems that combine low ambient temperatures with high heat-supply requirements.

Affected products
New sales codes for VPN compressors have been released.

New CDS203 drive sales codes compliant with both EN60730 and EN61800 standards are used for VPN compressors.

Implementation
VPN compressor implementation was done in July 2026.
Customer impact
This change introduces new product variants to the portfolio and does not affect existing products currently installed or in operation.
Customers will benefit from additional application options through the introduction of vapor injection technology, including improved low ambient heating performance, enhanced seasonal efficiency, and expanded operating capability for R290 heating applications.
VZN086/104/140/175 upgraded with R454C refrigerant compatibility
Multi-refrigerant variants supporting R290, R513A, and R454C
The VZN086, VZN104, VZN140, and VZN175 compressors will be upgraded to support R454C through new multi-refrigerant variants compatible with R290, R513A, and R454C. This update supports evolving European market requirements and gives customers an A2L refrigerant option for applications where the use of A3 refrigerants may create additional design or compliance challenges.he NTZ models listed below are qualified for use with R454C and R455A. These Group 1 refrigerants have a GWP below 150 and are classified as A2L, indicating low flammability. For safe use, please follow European regulations EN 378 and EN 60335, applicable EPA requirements in the United States, and relevant local regulations in other market
Compressor technical name update
As part of this change, the compressor technical name designation will also be updated. The final character of the technical name, used as the evolution index, will change from “A” to “B” to distinguish the new R454C-compatible variants from the existing versions.

CDS203 drive compliance update
In parallel, the corresponding CDS203 frequency converter will be upgraded from EN61800-only compliance to compliance with both EN60730 and EN61800. New drive sales codes will replace the existing versions. The final character of the drive technical name, used as the evolution index, will change from “1” to “2”.

Affected compressor sales codes
New sales codes for multi-refrigerant VZN086/104/140/175 compatible with R290, R513A, and R454C will be introduced. These new variants will replace the existing versions dedicated to R290 and R513A refrigerants.

Affected drive sales codes
In parallel, new CDS203 drive sales codes compliant with both EN60730 and EN61800 will replace the current EN61800-only versions.

(*) Note: The 30 kW cold-plate drive for VZN175 has already been updated to the new hardware. Only the software version will be updated to standardize it across the range.
For R513A requirements, Danfoss can currently provide the EN61800-compliant version only:

The updated product range consolidates refrigerant compatibility into one multi-refrigerant offering while supporting current regulatory and application requirements.
Implementation
The implementation of the new multi-refrigerant VZN variants with R454C compatibility is planned for August 2026 (start of production).
Customer impact
Customers will transition to new compressor sales codes that cover multi-refrigerant compatibility for R290, R513A, and R454C. These variants replace the previous dedicated R290 and R513A versions.
The compressor technical name identification will change, with the final character updated from “A” to “B”. Customers should update product references, documentation, ordering information, and internal system records accordingly.
New CDS203 drive sales codes compliant with both EN60730 and EN61800 will replace the previous EN61800-only versions. The drive technical name designation will also change, with the final character updated from “1” to “2”. Customers should review the updated product references, certifications, and related documentation linked to the upgraded compliance requirements.
Additional information
The VZN application guideline will be updated with R454C information.

AK-CC25 Pro (BT) software version available
Software update with factory reset and OEM access-code programming support
Software version 1.36 is now available as a web release for AK-CC25 Pro and AK-CC25 Pro BT. The update is not yet pre-installed on controllers released from production; production implementation is planned for the beginning of October 2026.
Key updates
The new software version introduces the following features:
Factory reset functionality: A Danfoss factory reset can be performed by combining a power cycle with a specific key combination on the display. This restores the controller to the Danfoss factory state, resetting all parameter values, including the network address, access codes, event history, alarm history, and data log history.
OEM access-code programming: For OEM programming via KoolProg, access codes can be cloned as part of the mass programming process. For the upcoming KoolProg version 5.7.x release, the CDF file must be uploaded manually.
The update also resolves minor issues identified in the previous software version.
AK-CC55 software versions released for Compact, Single Coil and Multi Coil
Expanded controller functionality across injection, defrost, fan control, and configuration
New software versions have now been implemented in production for AK-CC55 Compact (v2.32), Single Coil (v2.40), and Multi Coil (v2.01). All products shipped from Danfoss from week 38 onwards will have the new software pre-installed. The update is indicated by a revised PV number on the product label: PV04 for AK-CC55 Compact and PV05 for AK-CC55 Single Coil and Multi Coil.
Key updates by controller type

Customer action
Customers using mass programming in production should update existing setting files from the previous software version to the latest version. This can be done in KoolProg by using Set parameters. An updated programming guide is available in the product store.
Required files and tool support
The EPK files required to connect to AK-SM 800A are available in the latest EDF package on the ADAP-KOOL® software site.

ICF 25 flange and bonnet integrated into single component
Integrated component design for improved strength and reliability
As part of the continuous improvement process, the flange and bonnet in ICF 25 modules will be integrated into a single component. This removes the joint between the two parts, improving product strength and reliability. The update also includes a supplier and material change. The new supplier is an existing Danfoss partner that already delivers several components, including ICF 20 and ICF 25 carbon-steel valve housings.
Current and new design comparison

- Before the change:
The flanges were made of P285QH (with P275NL1 & P275NL2 as approved alternatives), and the bonnets were made of 355J2+N (1.0570 / 1.0577 EN 10025-2).
- After the change:
The new, integrated part will be made of P285QH.

Photo shows an example of flange and bonnet before the change.
After the change, there will be one integrated element. Please see the comparison of all affected modules in the table below.

Implementation
The change will be implemented over time, starting in Q3 2026, with full implementation planned for Q2 2027.
