Fresh Water Modules

Fresh water modules provide hot water, based on instantaneous principle and only as it is needed from a heat accumulator. The accumulation tank can be supplied by many different energy sources e.g. solar, boilers, district heating or heat pumps. Danfoss offers a comprehensive range of products with different control solutions based on principles of thermostatic or electronic controlling.

The primary side of the fresh water module is connected to the respective heat source, respectively accumulation tank and includes also a high-efficient pump and non-return valve to prevent circulation, when the module is not in operation.

The secondary side of the fresh water module is connected to the domestic cold water, domestic hot water and equipped with a recirculation kit. This side consists of a flow sensor for better control of DHW temperature.

How does fresh water modules work?

When you turn on a hot water tap in your home, cold water travels through a pipe into a heat exchanger in the unit. Installed flow sensor detects this flow and activates a high-efficient PWM pump, installed on primary side of the module. The pump, using the energy from the heat accumulator heats up the primary side of the heat exchanger, which heats the cold water passing through its secondary side.

As a result, the water heaters deliver a constant supply of instant hot water.
