At Danfoss Burner Components, customer feedback plays a vital role in driving continuous improvement and sustainable solutions.
Last year, UK distributor EOGB Ltd shared feedback on the packaging design of x100 oil nozzles. While the cardboard boxes were strong and intended for reuse, the fully glued long edge made them difficult to open without damage. As a result, many boxes could not be reused and were being discarded after first use.
Our Burner Components team in Nordborg took this input as an opportunity to improve. By applying a growth mindset and working collaboratively, the team introduced a simple but effective change: a perforated strip along the long edge of the box. This allows the box to be opened easily while maintaining its strength and reusability.
Today, EOGB is reusing these boxes for smaller customer orders, significantly reducing packaging waste and avoiding unnecessary landfill. What was once a challenge has become a practical example of circular economy thinking, extending material life cycles and reducing waste at the source.
Our UK partner, EOGB Ltd have thanked Danfoss for listening to them on this simple but very effective change to our packing. They estimate they will reuse up to 3,000 of these boxes by end of 2026 alone.
This improvement reflects Danfoss’ ESG ambitions and reinforces our customer-first approach, demonstrating how listening, learning, and acting on customer insight can create value for both customers and the environment.
