How does the agricultural sector navigate the climate crisis, and can we establish a 2050 roadmap for climate-neutrality?  What can agriculture learn from the forest industry when it comes to hybrid and full-electric solutions?  And do we already have electric solutions, that can pull the future closer?

Those will be the main topics, when Danfoss presents the global platform #ETtalks at this year’s Agritechnica, the leading fair and innovation forum for farming technology.

#ETtalks has been created to activate innovative thinking and solutions around climate and energy.

“By 2050, we need to produce 50% more food to feed a growing population and currently, production of food is responsible for 24% of CO2 emissions (IPCC). We need to decouple food production from CO2 emissions – and in order to achieve this, the collaboration between governments, industry, and research organizations is critical. In the context of this event, together with our speakers, we are launching a call to action,” says Mette Munk, Head of Danfoss Group Branding, who will be moderating the events.

Inspiration is taken from the bold ambition of the Danish food industry to be climate neutral by 2050, while increasing food production. While different initiatives are being pursued, focus will be on electrification as one of the key levers to transform farming machinery for a sustainable future.

Connie Hedegaard, former European Commissioner for Climate Action from 2010 to 2014, and member of the Danfoss Board, will be the first speaker at #ETtalks. She will address the topic of navigating the climate crisis: ambitions, structures and policies for the agriculture sector.

She will be followed by Hans Roust Thysen, Director at SEGES, who will be speaking about Denmark’s 2050 roadmap for a climate-neutral agriculture sector.

Jouni Kytovaara, heads the R&D and development of automation systems at LOGSET, which is a leading player in the forest machinery industry. He will describe what the agricultural sector can learn from the forestry industry.

Simon Nielsen, a Sr. Systems Engineer within the Integrated Solutions department of Danfoss Power Solutions, will be presenting perspectives on the electric future of farming machinery.

#ETtalks Insights – Agritechnica, will take place at Conference Room Casablanca Hall 19/20
