Q1. Compared to conventional steering, electrohydraulic steering can be more expensive. Why should we invest in such solutions?

Investment is the right definition for electrohydraulic solutions. Electrohydraulic steering allows you to step into the digital innovation: increased machine productivity (auto guidance, multi-axis steering), reduced TCO (less machine downtime, simplified hydraulic system, less wear) and increased operator comfort (reduced operator fatigue and cabin noise with improved handling and cabin visibility). Q2. There seems to be a lot of talk about safety on Steer-by-Wire solutions. Is the off-highway market ready for it?

Q3. Four-wheel steering is achievable with traditional steering solutions. What makes the electrohydraulic solution different?

In the traditional four-wheel steering (4WS) mode both axles on the machine move at the same steering angle as opposed to the electrohydraulic solution. In fact, Danfoss electrohydraulic all-wheel system allows dynamic 4WS mode with independent and adjustable rear axle. Take a look at the video.
