He is a leading authority on reducing emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases (“F-Gases” such as hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs)), and has acted as a technical advisor in this field to many private sector clients and to public sector organisations including the UK Government, the European Commission, the United Nations and the World Bank.
Ray has an engineering degree from Cambridge University. He was President of the UK Institute of Refrigeration in 1995 and 1996. He received the Cooling Industry Gold Award in 2011. He is a senior advisor to the Montreal Protocol TEAP (Technical and Economic Assessment Panel) and a member of the Montreal Protocol RTOC (Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps Technical Options Committee).
