Proportional valves without onboard electronics (non-OBE)

Three performance levels

Our proportional directional valves without OBE are available in three performance levels—ultra, high and standard performance—to suit a wide range of application requirements.

Ultra performance
KSD direct-acting and KHD pilot-operated servo performance valves.

  • Single solenoid high-response valve
  • Spool goes to 4th position when power is removed (pilot spool goes to 4th position on KHD)
  • Spool position feedback (pilot and main-stage spool position feedback)
  • Zero lap spool options
  • Suitable for closed-loop pressure and position control
  • Requires dedicated control amplifier

High performance
KFD direct-acting single feedback valve.
• Spool position feedback
• Suitable for precise speed control and simple closed-loop applications
• Requires dedicated control amplifier

Standard performance
KDG direct-acting and pilot-operated non-feedback valve.

  • No spool position feedback
  • Low-cost valve suitable for shock reduction and simple speed control applications
  • Simple, low-cost electronic requirements

Upgrade to onboard (OBE) electronics

Proportional valves with onboard electronics offer several advantages, including a factory-matched valve and amplifier, which reduces the possibility of selection and installation errors. Installation and setup is faster and easier, with limited user adjustments and reduced electrical cabinet space requirements.

Our KB family of proportional directional valves with onboard electronics (OBE) features superior reliability and durability, IP67 environmental protection and reduced power consumption. With a controller built in, valves with onboard electronics (OBE) do not require an external controller.

Valves with OBE offer several advantages:

  • Easier, faster and lower cost valve package installation
  • Reduced possibility of selection and installation errors
  • Optimized valve with robust amplifier design
  • Easier setup with limited user adjustments
  • Easier maintenance replacements
  • Reduced electrical cabinet space
  • High levels of EMC immunity
  • Vibration and shock resistant

Three performance levels, a world of possibilities

Our proportional directional valves with OBE are available in three performance levels—ultra, high and standard performance—to suit a wide range of application requirements.

Ultra performance
KBSD direct-acting and KBHD pilot-operated servo performance valves.

  • Single solenoid high-response valve
  • Spool goes to 4th position when power is removed (pilot spool goes to 4th position on KBHD)
  • Spool position feedback (pilot- and main-stage spool position feedback)
  • Zero lap spool options
  • Suitable for closed-loop pressure and position control
  • Plug-and-play digital electronics with no amplifier setup requirements with command options and enable function

High performance
KBF direct-acting and pilot-operated single feedback valves.

  • Dual solenoid valve
  • Spool stays in center position when power is removed (pilot spool stays in center position when power is removed)
  • Amplifier has spool position feedback (amplifier has only main-stage spool position feedback)
  • Zero lap spool options available on single-stage
  • Plug-and-play digital electronics with no amplifier-to-valve setup requirements, plus command options, enable function and programmable ramps

Standard performance
KBD direct-acting and pilot-operated non-feedback valves.

  • Dual solenoid digital valve
  • Spool stays in center position when power is removed (pilot spool stays in center position when power is removed)
  • No spool position feedback
  • Plug-and-play digital electronics with no amplifier-to-valve setup requirements, plus command options, enable function and programmable ramps
