New AK-GC52 Controller Helps Optimize CO₂ Refrigeration System Performance
As CO₂ refrigeration systems continue to gain momentum, system efficiency and pressure control remain critical to achieving reliable performance across a wide range of operating conditions. To help address these challenges, Danfoss has developed the AK-GC52 CO₂ Gas Cooler and Receiver Pressure Controller, a new solution designed to optimize gas cooler and receiver pressure control in both transcritical and subcritical CO₂ applications.
The AK-GC52 regulates gas cooler pressure to help refrigeration systems achieve optimal coefficient of performance (COP). By continuously adjusting system operation based on pressure and temperature measurements, the controller helps maximize efficiency while supporting stable and reliable performance.
Designed for versatility, the controller can be applied across a broad range of CO₂ systems, including transcritical refrigeration systems, heat pumps, heat recovery applications, and chillers. It also supports increased cooling capacity during warmer operating periods, helping systems maintain performance when demand is highest.
A key feature of the AK-GC52 is its ability to optimize operation across both transcritical and subcritical conditions. The controller continuously adjusts gas cooler pressure to maximize COP, while also supporting receiver pressure control, heat recovery functionality, and optimized heat pump operation.
