Unique design provides optimized performance for CDUs
Mission-critical environments, such as data centers, require efficient and effective thermal management. Danfoss’ new B3-260C brazed plate heat exchanger is engineered for maximum efficiency, enabling data centers to operate their cooling distribution units (CDU) with minimal energy loss while meeting uptime requirements.
Featuring a symmetric plate design and advanced fishbone pattern, the B3-260C achieves outstanding heat transfer efficiency while maintaining minimal pressure drop, ensuring peak performance. Optimized for single-phase operation with a parallel-flow configuration, the new exchanger provides precise temperature control and supports improved Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), helping operators meet growing demands for sustainable and energy-efficient cooling.
With capacities up to 1 MW and optimized for very low Log Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD) applications (~2 K), the B3-260C marks a major step forward in efficient and reliable thermal management for data centers.
Key features and benefits:
- High heat transfer efficiency, which boosts CDU and overall system performance
- Low pressure drop, which reduces pumping power and operating costs
- Compact footprint, enabling more space-efficient CDU designs
- Lower environmental impact, achieved through optimized material use and enhanced performance
“The B3-260C fulfills a critical need for data centers,” said Vic Marinich, business development manager for brazed plate heat exchangers at Danfoss. “As data centers continue to grow, they will require sustainable cooling solutions. The B3-260C’s exceptional performance enables data centers to optimize their CDUs and maintain peak operational efficiency during continuous operation.”
