The ICFD defrost module for CO2 and Ammonia is a compact liquid-based drain module packaged into our widely acknowledged ICF valve station. It is a formula that unites the well-known benefits of the Danfoss ICF technology with the most efficient defrost method known into one state-of-the-art defrost solution for industrial refrigeration applications.

The solution makes it possible to equip an evaporator with ICF Valve Stations across the wet suction, liquid, hot gas, and defrost drain lines. It provides an impressive range of benefits in respect of improved operational efficiency, easy installation, and energy savings.

The ICFD Defrost Module comes in one size and two versions, ICFD 20 – Ammonia and ICFD 20C – CO2 and is fully compatible with ICF 15-4, ICF 20-4, and ICF 20-6.

Cutting energy use and costs while boosting frozen storage reliability

An international retailer upgraded the defrost drain line at its frozen distribution center in Ploiești, Romania with five Danfoss ICFD valve stations. The site cut operating costs by more than €69,000 in 2025 and achieved energy savings of 466 MWh versus 2023 and 385 MWh versus 2024, while improving reliability and simplifying service.
