At this year’s Water Equipment Show, drives optimised for water and wastewater applications will take centre stage on the Danfoss Drives stand. The company is also contributing to the conference programme, with Vasile Bucelea, Product Marketing Manager for Danfoss Drives, delivering an informative and insightful presentation on condition-based monitoring functions with frequency inverters.
The event takes place on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at the International Centre, Telford, where visitors to Stand F33 will be able to learn about the latest products from Danfoss, as well as the company’s ground-breaking DrivePro® and Do it Differently initiatives.
Products in the spotlight on the stand include the Danfoss VLT® AQUA series of drives, which have dedicated features covering a wide range of water and wastewater applications. Danfoss VACON® 100 FLOW drives are also optimized for pumping applications.
Visitors will have an opportunity to learn about the DrivePro® initiative, which makes life easier for drive users by looking after their requirements at every stage of a project, from initial specification, right through the operating years, to end-of-life disposal. Visitors will also discover the Do it Differently initiative, which is based on the idea that designers and specifiers should always have the freedom to choose the combination of products that gives the best solution for their application.
Visitors who attend Vasile Bucelea’s presentation will learn why condition-based monitoring embedded in frequency converters is widely seen as a breakthrough in drives technology. He will explore the various condition monitoring functions that are available and explain the benefits of having them embedded in the frequency converter rather than implementing them with external equipment. He will also consider the possibility of remote monitoring.
Product highlights for the VACON® 100 FLOW drives showcased at the exhibition include easy set up with dedicated application menus for pump and other water segment applications, economy with integrated two-zone PID control, and versatility with multi-motor control facilities provided as standard. Available with power ratings from 0.55 kW to 800 kW, they provide a wide range of features that make life easier and save money for users.
Key features of these versatile drives include integrated frost protection, start and sleep boosting, soft pipe filling which runs pumps at low speed until the pipes are filled and an anti-ragging function that detects when a pump is blocked and initiates a user-defined cleaning sequence.
VLT® AQUA Drives are designed to provide the highest level of performance in AC-motor-driven water and wastewater applications. The innovative design of the VLT® AQUA Drives offer the lowest cost of ownership, utilizing the unique Danfoss back channel cooling concept which reduces the need for external cooling by up to an impressive 90%. AQUA drives are supplied in single-phase versions with power ratings up to 37 kW and three-phase versions with ratings up to 2 MW. Twelve-pulse and low harmonic drives are also included in the range.
