Self-limiting heating cables are designed with a temperature-dependent resistant element between two parallel copper bus wires. When the bus wires are connected to the mains, a current goes through the temperature-dependent resistant element which will then heat. As the element is heated, the resistance value rises causing the current to decline and heating is reduced. This explains the self-limiting effect.
The DEVIiceguard™ is ready-made self-limiting parallel heating cable that is used for melting ice and snow on roofs, gutters, and downpipes (UV-resistant). The heating cable is flexible and easy to install as it can be cut to length at site and installed directly on to the roof and gutter system.Applications:Roofs, gutters, downpipes, drain lines
The DEVIpipeguard™ is a self-limiting heating cable that is mainly used for frost protection of pipes. The cable will maintain its functionality even when shortened. The outer sheath is highly resistant to harsh environmental conditions and corrosion and it also serves as a protection against mechanical influences. The cables are not approved for use in drinking water.Applications:Pipe frost protectionTank frost protectionSprinkler systems
The DEVIpipeheat™ V2 is a self-limiting heating cable that is mainly used for frost protection of pipes. The self-limiting capability of the cable ensures that the output of the cable increases or decreases according to ambient temperature. The heating cables can be installed outside water pipes.Applications:Pipe frost protection
The DEVIpipeheat™ V3 is a self-limiting heating cable approved for drinking water use and inside pipe installation in certificed countries. The self-limiting capability of the cable ensures that the output increases or decreases according to ambient temperature. Applications:• Pipe frost protection
The DEVIpipeguard™ LSZH is a halogen-free self-limiting heating cable with improved quality and enhanced technical characteristics. It is covered by a product warranty of 10 years.
Applications:• Pipe frost protection• Tank frost protection• Sprinkler systems during winter

The Plugin supports your engineering and design journey by making your work faster due to simple functionalities in calculating all lengths, dimensions and product data of cables and mats. It covers all applications within Electric Heating projects: Electric floor heating, Ice & Snow melting systems, Pipe tracing, Cold stores, Sport fields, Vineyards etc.By utilising Plugin, you will reduce design time for the project, provide all necessary information for installers in HTML/PDF format: BoM, resistance value check list, warranty list format. It means all project information can be consolidated in one file.
Plugin can be used with AutoCAD 2017-2023.
In order to clarify the project data for different applications use the technical request forms you find on this page
Electric heating for an immersed tunnel in Norway.

Danfoss offers high-pressure pumps and valves for fire fighting, fire suppression and fire protection, designed for more efficient fire extinguishing.
Danfoss systems are used in all frost protection applications in car parks, garages, stairs, pavements and other ground-level surfaces, which can be secured against the negative effects of winter. Danfoss frost protection systems include all the necessary products such as cables or heating mats, specialised controllers and mounting accessories.
During winter time it can be hazardous to access commercial or public buildings. Snow covered car parks, garage ramps, stairs and pavements need to be cleaned to allow visitors safe access. Danfoss offers highly effective frost and snow protection systems, including all the necessary products such as electric heating cables or mats, controllers, sensors and mounting accessories.
The hotel industry is a highly competitive sector where margins are constantly under pressure. The service towards guests must remain on a high level to hold the hotels' reputation. Saving energy is a key-differentiator. Danfoss offers comfort increasing HVAC solutions which help reduce the energy consumption.
Modern heating technology gives property owners and managers numerous ways to improve energy efficiency in their buildings. Whether planning a new build, renovation or refurbishment.
The ways office buildings are used is changing fast. Trends such as smart offices, digitalization and flexible work stations require adaptations in the technical aspects as well. Optimal indoor comfort for workers is essential. Danfoss offers comfort-increasing and energy-saving HVAC solutions.
Heating accounts for most of the energy used in 1- and 2-family homes. Most existing homes have the potential to realise significant energy savings, by improving the heating system and optimising control of their heating by upgrading their controls.
Whether you are building a new home or renovating the existing one, our experience and expertise are at your disposal.
