Shanghai/Nordborg – Danfoss entered into a global agreement with Highly, global manufacturer of rotary compressors, with the aim to offer rotary technology to the residential heat pump market and some selective Refrigeration applications. This partnership further strengthens Danfoss’ position as a preferred partner to accelerate the decarbonisation of the heating sector.
With the market making significant shifts towards decarbonisation, reliance on fossil fuel heating systems is dropping. Hydronic heat pumps – due to their energy efficiency helping to reduce indirect emissions– are a key part of this move. This is particularly true in Europe, thanks to the continent’s green initiatives.
This strategic agreement will enable Danfoss to offer a complete R290-based program for heat pumps, now including rotary compressors, and further expand its broad end-to-end portfolio from the heating source to the distribution.
Danfoss solutions provide the most efficient heating architecture to help homeowners take control of their energy usage and costs. Increasing the energy efficiency of single-family homes is a critical step towards decarbonisation.
For OEMs and Distribution market within the residential heat pump scope, Danfoss will be selling Danfoss branded rotary compressors manufactured by Highly. Highly will continue to sell Highly branded rotary compressors via their existing channels.
