The new iC7-HVACR from Danfoss is a premium variable frequency drive (VFD) engineered to redefine performance in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. From lowering PUE in critical data centers to ensuring efficient air conditioning in smart buildings and reliability in clean rooms, the iC7-HVACR is built to solve today’s most pressing challenges. This next-generation drive is more than just an efficiency tool; it’s a strategic component for modern, intelligent systems, delivering unparalleled performance through three key differentiators.
1. Unmatched grid quality with ultra-low harmonics (ULH)
Power quality is critical in industry and the health sector. The iC7-HVACR portfolio features an ultra-low harmonic (ULH) variant which is impressively compact and lightweight and leads the market in reducing harmonic distortion. This ensures superior grid compliance, reduces energy losses, and crucially protects sensitive electronics and other critical assets from the damaging effects of poor power quality. This means enhanced stability and reliability for the entire electrical infrastructure, vital for sensitive facilities such as data centers, hospitals, and clean rooms.
2. A new level of HVACR intelligence for high indoor air quality (IAQ)
The iC7-HVACR significantly reduces system complexity and cost by integrating advanced intelligence directly into the drive. It offers features especially tailored to optimizing HVAC and refrigeration performance. Its increased computing power allows it to function as both a sensor hub and a controller, reducing the need for external PLCs. This enables smarter, more
responsive building automation, provides real-time data directly to your Building Management System (BMS), and simplifies system design for faster, more efficient commissioning.
3. Cybersecure-by-design for critical infrastructure
In an increasingly connected world, secure access management is non-negotiable. The iC7-HVACR features an integrated hardware cryptochip to safeguard the drive against unauthorized access, for elevated reliability.
