The highest standards of safety

If you like being in the driver’s seat, you’ll love the light responsiveness of our steering units.

It takes a lot to keep steering forces under perfect control in all kinds of driving conditions. With Danfoss hydraulic steering units, a steady, reliable performance is integral to the design.

Look forward to the highest standards of safety and operator comfort. In addition, a low noise level that the surroundings are bound to appreciate.

Our steering units are available in many types, most of them with integrated valve functions. Perfect for smooth driving on the straight or during maneuvering.

Open center and load sensing models.

Features

  • Low noice
  • Good steering controlability
  • Low steering torque 0.8 to 3.0 N
  • High back pressure possible up to 40bar
  • One or several built in valve functions possible: pressure relief, shock and suction in L + R, check valve in P and in LS

Target applications

  • Small tractors
  • Backhoe loader
  • Road building machinery
  • Combines and harvesters etc.
OSPC

The OSPD is a dual displacement steering unit, which assures easy maneuverability of machines of most sizes. Each unit in the complete steering range combines superior performance with the highest standards of safety. As well as operator comfort and low noise levels. Due to flexibility in combination of rotary meters, OSPD can be offered with many different ratios. These are between emergency steering and normal steering displacement. In addition, ratios between 1:2 and 1:7. OSPD also can be offered with external shift of displacement. In this way can be selected between different displacements to improve comfort and productivity.

Features

  • The OSPD has 2 rotary meters (gear wheel sets). In the case of no pump supply only one rotary meter is active for emergency steering. In normal steering situations both rotary meters are active
  • With OSPD even heavy vehicles can in many cases fulfill legislations and be steered without the emergency steering pump
  • Ratio between normal steering displacement and emergency steering displacement from factor 2 up to 7
  • Low noice
  • Good steering controlability
  • Low steering torque 0.8 to 3.0 N
  • High back pressure possible up to 40bar
  • One or several built in valve functions possible: pressure relief, shock and suction in L + R, check valve in P and in LS

Target applications

  • On-road machinery etc.
OSPD

OSPF is the perfect steering units for small to medium size fork lift trucks and compact wheel loaders.

Features

  • Extremely good in controlling negative steering forces. Therefore, no risk of runaway even when only using one differential cylinder on articulated vehicles
  • Higher max. steering speed, limited only by the capacity of the pump and the pressure setting
  • Low noice
  • Good steering controlability
  • Low steering torque 0.8 to 3.0 N
  • High back pressure possible up to 40bar
  • One or several built in valve functions possible. There are pressure relief, shock and suction in L + R and check valve in P

Target applications

  • Forklift trucks
  • Combines etc.
OSPF

The OSPL has an extended maximum steering pressure up to 240 bar (P-T). It is only available in LS versions (static and dynamic). It has been developed especially for large displacement in order to minimize flow loss. It is therefore extremely suitable for large vehicles.

Features

  • Cover large displacements
  • Higher steering pressure
  • Low noise level
  • Low pressure drop
  • Low steering torque
  • One or more built in valve functions
  • Good steering controlability
  • Low steering torque 0.8 to 3.0 N
  • High back pressure possible up to 40bar
  • One or several built in valve functions possible: shock and suction in L + R and check valve in P

Target applications

  • Large forklift trucks
  • Wheel loaders
OSPL

The OSPU is the latest addition to the Danfoss dual displacement steering product line. It is complementing the OSPD for responsive, easily maneuverable machines of most sizes. Each unit in the complete steering range combines superior performance with the highest standards of safety. As well as, operator comfort and low noise levels. Danfoss has designed the OSPU as an alternative to dual displacement steering units. Due to its unique flow-amplifying capability (up to 1:4), the unit delivers best-in-class manual steering over a wide application range. This leads to that the compact design is easing installation. A new progressive displacement option secures smooth steering performance in both slow and fast steering modes. At the same time, maintaining optimal controllability, precision and operator comfort. The steadily increasing flow, which corresponds to steering speed, contributes to reduced operating costs.

Features and benefits

  • Displacement independent of steering speed
  • Amplification factors: 1:2, 1:2.5, 1:3 or 1:4 linear, or 1:2 progressive amplification versions
  • Steady increase in progressive flow at higher steering speed
  • Increases productivity and driver comfort
  • Installation Benefits
  • Small installation dimensions

Target applications

  • Tractors
  • Backhoe loaders
  • Combines
  • Telescopic handlers
  • Wheel loaders etc.
