Installers and service technicians have a unique, fun, and chill way to keep themselves occupied throughout the day and improve their refrigeration knowledge and skills.
How do you fill long days spent driving the company van from job site to job site, or distract yourself during a repair job that’s taking a little longer than it should? Many HVACR service technicians blare their favorite songs or tune into the latest political discussion on the radio to pass the time. That’s all well and good, but what if there was a way to get some entertainment and gain new skills and knowledge at the same time?
For almost a year now, installers and service technicians around the world have been tuning into the Chilling with Jens podcast to tap what we like to call “refrigeration zen” and learn more about the evaporative refrigeration process.
Chilling with Jens
This podcast series takes you through the principles, processes, and systems around evaporative refrigeration. Each chapter builds on what you've already learned and become more advanced as you go. The podcast has something for everyone, industry veterans, and students alike.
Throughout 2018, Jens covered many of the basics, including topics like the condensation process, refrigerants, and the parts of the refrigerant system. He also delved into more advanced areas like condensers, electronic controls, and indirect cooling.
Jens has been working at Danfoss for over 40 years, so he knows a thing or two about evaporative refrigeration and the cooling industry. He’s also a pretty chill guy and has an easy way about him. He even helped compose and perform the Chilling with Jens podcast intro music.
He records all his episodes from the peace and quiet of his home office in Southern Jutland in Denmark, infusing the show with its trademark chill vibe.
