Danfoss motorized shut-off ball valves, type GBC M+MQT, are electrically operated shut-off valves for refrigeration systems, to open and to shut off inner flow path by operating the valve spindle electrically. The GBC M+MQT valves are used in liquid, suction and hot gas lines in refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
The solution features GBC M ball valve and MQT actuator. Motorized ball valves are quarter-turn valves combined with MQT fast-responding electric actuator.
Together, they deliver high efficiency and safety, high versatility and a strong and reliable design.
Danfoss ball valves, type GBC, are suitable for bi-directional flow. The design, the welding and the sealing material vouch for safe construction. They feature a full port design for very low pressure drop, high tightness and can be delivered with or without external access port.
Key specifications include a broad temperature range from -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F) and a broad range of connections.
MQT actuators are available for AC/DC 24 V, 95-265 V AC. They offer an automatic on/off (including emergency shut-off), and a responding time lower than 5 seconds.
Features and benefits of GBC M
-
Compatible with most A1, A2, and A3 refrigerants with full-port design ensuring minimal pressure drop and no impact on system efficiency.
-
ISO 14903 hermetic sealing, bi-directional orientation-independent installation, ISO 5211 actuator interface, and factory pre-assembled valve/adaptor for easy and error-free installation.
Features and benefits of MQT actuators
-
10Nm and 90° rotation actuator with quick responding, 5-second full stroke time, multiple voltage options, and visual position indication with feedback signal for reliable valve control.
-
IP67-rated with internal anti-condensation heater, designed for low-temperature operation, extended duty cycles, and optional fail-safe automatic valve closure on power loss.
System integration
The GBC M series is an evolution of the manual GBC shut-off ball valves. While the manual version offers the foundation of reliable isolation, the motorized GBC M brings that reliability into the digital age, allowing for remote monitoring and automated safety sequences. It is the ideal choice for:
- Heat pumps
- Water heaters
- Chillers
- Rooftop units
- Dedicated outdoor air systems
