Looking back at 2011

2011 has turned out to be an excellent year and we are as busy as we could have hoped for. Across the Northern European Region (Denmark, Finland, Holland, Norway, Sweden and the UK) we began this year with ambitious long term growth and investments plans.
One year ago I shared our perspective plans with you, and I am both proud and thankful to all our partners and customer in saying that we are one year ahead of our schedule - and getting close to the end of this year we see that 2011 will be our best year ever.

More than ever before we have also learned how quickly things can change around us and how our region is strongly linked to global market fluctuations. Global demand created a shortage in various raw materials, leading to increased lead-times in the beginning of the year; with additional pressure coming from the terrible tragedy that hit Japan. Despite these global challenges we have still managed to create strong business results together with all of you. During the summer we have been closely following the economical situation in the Euro zone and clearly now start to see that the market is slowing down. On a positive note we can report it has not yet reached us as we are still tracking high growth compared to the same period last year.

So looking ahead into 2012 we must say there is more uncertainty than ever before in what to expect in terms of market growth. However there will always be new opportunities for creating good business results if you have the right value proposition to bring to the market – and this is why we now look forward to 2012 as a year where we can create positive results together with you. As the dedicated Variable Speed Drive (VSD) specialists in the market, Danfoss VLT Drives are stronger than ever before through investments in our sales and service organizations across the region. All our teams are ready to cooperate and support you in creating strong business results even in these uncertain times.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers and business partners for their valued co-operation during 2011 and look forward to a successful future together in 2012 and beyond. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.
