Variable Frequency Drives Step Up Cooling Control In Supermarkets

Variable frequency drives (VFD) take advantage of the fact that rotational speed of an AC motor is proportional to the frequency of the power supplied. Within limits, if the frequency is varied, motor speed changes, and in a compressor, capacity varies proportionally.
