Danfoss implements an improved problem solving procedure
Based on the TS16949 quality standard, which strives for continuous quality improvement, the 8D tool includes a checklist of eight corrective and preventive measures based on data collection and analysis. These measures assure that actions to improve quality are based on facts, the root cause of the problem is addressed, and the solution proves effective. And response is rapid – within two working days a containment action is taken to ensure that further deliveries are problem-free.
Danfoss is currently using this procedure to optimise the solution of problems brought to our attention by our large OEM customers. The 8D Problem Solving tool means that after we receive a claim from a customer, the relevant market support team conducts an investigation to validate the concerns involved, as well as the possible consequences. If certain conditions exist, the 8D Problem Solving process is initiated. This involves:
