The factory was constructed in 2001 and is now set to be extended to a toal of 23.500 m2. The new basement is 3 times bigger than present and will house all the test equipment and facilities of the factory. The building will be ready in 2009. At a later stage a disicion will be made about a doubling of the administration facilities at Loves Park.
Building the new facilities, Danfoss is taking full account of the environment. Therefor the new factory will have a LEED Silver Certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
Also in Denmark Danfoss Drives is working on the future. Next to the Danfoss Drives factory in Graasten a new logistics wharehouse to handle global shipments is being build. The new wharehousewith a surface of 11.900 m2, also includes a number of offices and will be operational in the beginning of 2009.
In Shanghai, China, Danfoss Drives is building a new 20.000 m2 facility that will house the production of the VLT Micro Drive. The environment and energy consumption are important issues here too. The production hall will be completely insulated, which is quite unusual in China.
