Lead free bearings for Performer® Scroll compressors

Danfoss supports a proactive approach to environmental challenges by going further than required by law in restricting the use of substances that might present a potential risk to the environment and human health.
Lead is considered toxic, neurotoxic, environmentally hazardous, and is included on the blacklist of the Danfoss Negative List Material Standard. For this reason Danfoss Commercial Compressors has completed a program to remove this substance from the bearings and is one of the first manufacturers producing commercial scroll compressors with lead free bearings.
There is no change to the code numbers for these compressors, however, it is possible to recognise the compressor as the model number, stamped on the compressor namplate, has a new evolution index, in order to ensure easy product tracability:e.g. SH180B4ABB becomes SH180B4ABC.

For the VSH range of Variable Speed Scroll Compressors the evolution index of the model number has changed from A to B. e.g. VSH088AGANA becomes VSH088AGANB.

Compressor certifications such as UL and CE remain unchanged, however, the RoHS certificate has been updated.
