As expected, the main attractions on the stand were the new products from Danfoss (some of which were launched to the South African market at the show). Ever present was the underlying dedication that Danfoss has to energy efficiency and the constant commitment to producing environmentally friendly products. Danfoss continues to strive to produce products using low emission refrigerants
Visiting the Danfoss Refrigeration and Air Conditioning South African team from France, was Jean-Bernard Coulanges (Sales Manager, Danfoss Compressors). Jean-Bernard paid special attention at Frigair to the BD2 and Optyma Plus compressors, and was exceptionally proud to be a part of the “team” for the duration of the show. He commented on Frigair, saying “This exhibition is remarkable – the standard of the stands, most impressively Danfoss, far outweighs anything that is produced in France.” He went on to add, “IKK in Europe is the largest refrigeration show/exhibition, and the display of products produced in South Africa at this show is on a par with Danfoss Europe - I am very impressed.”
The products on show at Frigair 2007 included refrigeration components, compressors, condensing units and systems – there was even a actual working model of the VTZ and related components running on the stand. Remarkably, this unit was able to give all visitors to the stand an immediate understanding of the Danfoss product line capabilities. Vernon Vandrau, Business Unit Manager for Danfoss Refrigeration and Air Conditioning in South Africa, tells us about Frigair, “It is vital at a show such as Frigair to capture the attention of visitors – we did this completely with the working model of the VTZ, aswell as with the “touch & feel” way that our products are displayed. With the VTZ, we were able to demonstrate at the touch of a mouse, all the capabilities of the system in real-time – for customers, this meant that they were given product information, technical advice and product demonstration in one place. For Danfoss, this means that the products continue to sell themselves when shown in practise, making after-sales an easier job as customers have visual understanding of the systems”.
One of the strongest aspects of the new range of Danfoss products is the technologically advanced and user friendly operation that the systems have. Coupled with internet access, 360 degree visibility of a refrigeration system is now possible and even more importantly, it is possible with certain products to control more than just refrigeration of a store. Full monitoring systems, research and development into noise reduction, standard products upgraded with new research and development – these are just some of the aspects of the 2007/8 range of Danfoss Refrigeration & Air Conditioning products.
A comment from a visitor to the Danfoss stand seems to sum up Frigair 2007, “With Danfoss, you get one world-class company providing you with the technology and the products that are both relevant to your business and which (more importantly) meet the demands that your systems require – no matter what the size is of your business or the industry you operate in. Danfoss wins hands down when it comes to refrigeration.”
Some of the head-turning items on the stand were: EM100 (the upgrade of the M2), AKS255, GEEP, Optyma Plus, BD35, MPZ, Scroll Compressor.
