“Greentelligence” was the recurrent theme at this year’s biggest industrial fair held in Hannover, Germany.
At the Hannover Messe 2012, exhibitors from various industrial sectors demonstrated how smart integration of energy-efficient processes and sustainable products will drive future market growth.
The Danfoss booth featured a vast number of products which help industry save energy in a smart way.
One of the products was the drive solution for conveyor applications, the VLT® FlexConcept®, which saves up to 50% energy.
Saving energy in the industry’s daily operations is exactly what is needed to reduce the global energy consumption. The world is facing a tremendous climate and energy resource challenge, just 50 years from now, Ole Møller-Jensen, Danfoss VLT Drives Senior Vice President, explained at a press conference held during the five-day Hannover Messe 2012.
“Today, oil, coal or gas accounts for the vast majority of our energy consumption. Today we are 7 billion people in the world. By 2050, we will be 9 billion, all with much higher spendable income for consumerism. However, some energy specialist believe that by then, still oil, gas and coal will account for up to 80% of the world’s energy consumption. In 2050 we will be much closer to the end of our oil, gas and coal reserves, forcing us to really think of new ways to use and preserve energy. This is our obligation as companies and as individuals, and that is why we at Danfoss talk about Solutions Ready – we already have tomorrow’s solutions ready today,” said Ole Møller-Jensen.
