Irrigation is the artificial application of water to the soil, usually for assisting in growing crops. In crop production, it is mainly used in dry areas and in periods of rainfall shortages, but also to protect plants against frost.
A pressurised irrigation system is a network installation consisting of pipes, fittings and other devices properly designed and installed to supply water under pressure from the water source to the irrigable area.
