Wastewater Treatment

Tertiary treatment

The tertiary treatment consists of filtration, chlorination and dechlorination steps. The secondary effluent is filtered through a conventional shallow bed sand filtration system for the polishing phase of solids removal. The filtered effluent is sent to the chlorination system and the backwash water is sent to the headworks. The chlorination system is followed by a dechlorination system prior to the discharge.
