The new drive includes several energy saving features like Flow compensation, AEO, sleep mode and inbuilt cascade control as standard.

For instance with the function “Flow Compensation” it is possible to place the feedback transducer just next to the pump and still obtain the same energy saving performance as if the transmitter was located in the end of the pipe system. The intelligent VLT® AQUA Drive uses the physical law that the pressure resistant in the pipeline is reduced at reduced flow. When the system is in operation, the drive will, in a low flow period, automatically reduce the set point close to the pump and still ensure the needed pressure in the end of the pipeline depending on the flow demand.   In the new VLT® AQUA Drive, the well known Danfoss sleep mode function, where the drive is stopped if there is no need for operation, can be based on low speed detection or at low flow/low Power detection. By the way the low Power detection can also be used to protect the pump from a dry run situation.   The new VLT® AQUA Drive can be utilised for both variable and constant torque applications and hence is the right choice for all applications in water and waste-water applications. It is available in all kinds of IP classes and can be delivered with coated PCB’s (printed circuit boards) for harsh environments.   With the integrated graphical user interface with onboard manual all process variables can be monitored which together with the standard USB port optimises the communication with the user.   For more information about the new VLT® AQUA Drive, please contact your local Danfoss supplier.
