With the new ETS 6 valve, Danfoss’ range of ETS electrically operated expansion valves has just got even stronger. Designed to control liquid injection into evaporators, the ETS range improves energy efficiency in refrigeration, heat pumps and air conditioning systems.

Increasing environmental concern, and tighter CO2 emission and energy consumption regulations have made air conditioning, heat pump and refrigeration unit manufacturers look for new ways to improve the energy efficiency of their systems. The electronic expansion valve, which can adapt to the exact capacity demands of a system, is one component that’s making a positive difference to the energy consumption.
One of the most comprehensive series of electrically operated expansion valves on the market, Danfoss’ ETS series has just got even stronger with the addition of the ETS 6.

Precision Flow Control

Compact and lightweight, the ETS 6 can be used with all common refrigerants (R410A, R407C, R404A, R134a). It has a low weight and can be used in heat pump systems with bi-flow operation. Designed to cut energy consumption, the ETS 6 offers precision flow control, even at low flow rates.

So how does the ETS 6 operate? The valve opens and closes to regulate refrigerant flow. When an electrical stepper motor signal is applied to the coil the valves opening can be precisely positioned in order to meet the required system refrigerant flow. The ETS 6 has a total of 480 steps from fully closed to fully open valve giving the valve a precise resolution for better control of the superheat.
