The VLT® AQUA Drive is now officially released in all IP classes 15 November 2007

Wednesday, 28 November 2007
With the introduction of the last frame in the new IP20 panel mount platform, VLT® AQUA Drive are now introduced from panel mount drives IP20 to water proof IP66. The last of the four enclosures in the new IP20 panel mount platform covering from 22-37kW @380-480V has just been released and this is seen as a major step in completing the transition from the old VLT® 8000 to the new VLT® AQUA Drive. A large part of the water business is panel builders and in order to speed up and complete the transition it is important to cover the full power range in the panel optimised drive platform. The new IP20 platform is a unique state of the art enclosure design for panel mount drives. It offers high “Power density” with the smallest enclosure ever seen in the power range from 11-90kW and still the well known Danfoss performance is kept. That means performances like the low harmonics, the capability to operate with long motor cables and in high ambient temperature is maintained as the rest of the new FC platform drives from Danfoss Drives. The new IP20 drive takes advantage of an intelligent cooling concept with minimum air passing the electronics in order to increase the life time of the drive. In the largest frame sizes there are two individual controlled fans which increases the reliability and speaking of fans it is worth mentioning they are all designed for the life time of the drive with no scheduled maintenance. The new IP20 platform drives are available in 240V, 380-480V and 525-600V versions covering the medium power range and an IP21/Nema1 kit will follow December 07. With the coming release of the high power drives up to 1,2MW before the end of the year VLT® AQUA Drive power range is now almost completed.

Tradition and innovation in the most modern beer brewery of Europe

The new Grolsch brewery just outside Enschede is a surprising combination of tradition and innovation. Here production managers are called “master brewer” and those talking about “factory” will be corrected immediately: we are here in a brewery! At the same time this brewery just besides highway A35 belongs to the most modern ones in Europe. Literally speaking all parts of production logistics, control technology and administration are connected in one big control network.
