Danfoss products have been available on the Australian market since the 1950's. In 1970 an Australian owned company, Russel Armstrong Pty. Ltd., with offices in Melbourne and Sydney, became a distributor for the Danfoss Industrial, Heating and Compressor range of products. In 1980 Russel Armstrong Pty. Ltd was appointed sole distributor for the complete range of Danfoss products.
Russel Armstrong successfully marketed the Danfoss range of products and expanded its business, opening offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. In 1982 it became the only independently owned company to enter into a joint venture with Danfoss A/S to establish an office in Singapore.
In 1986 Russel Armstrong Pty. Ltd. became a wholly owned subsidiary of Danfoss A/S, Denmark.
Danfoss (Australia) Pty. Ltd. established an office in Auckland and Christchurch, New Zealand in 1987.
On 8th September 2000, Danfoss (Australia) Pty. Ltd. appointed LGL Australia Holdings Pty. Ltd. (Heatcraft Australia) as the exclusive distributor of Danfoss automatic controls for refrigeration and air conditioning applications in Australia.
Commitment to quality is demonstrated by the company successfully attaining the ISO 9002:1994 certification, which in 2003 was updated to the current ISO 9001:2000 standard
The sale of the Danfoss New Zealand RA Division to Heatcraft New Zealand Limited took effect on 6th January 2006.
