The monthly magazine presents the award annually to 40 building industry engineers under the age of 40 who stand out in their academic, professional, personal and community achievements. Candidates were nominated by a professional colleague and were judged based on commitment to excellence in a variety of areas. To qualify, nominees had to be 40 years of age or younger, as of May 1, 2009.
The May Specifiers Guide of Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine profiles each award winner, highlighting circumstances that lead them to success. The guide also describes recent professional projects and personal achievements.
Staub oversees a team of 12 application engineers. His more recent professional accomplishments include the design and construction of an environmental climate chamber that tests air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment. He also served as technical support manager for a team of six engineers in Monterrey, Mexico, who launched the thermostatic expansion valve.
In addition to professional accomplishments, Staub’s profile references his experiences as a crewman on a 42-foot deep-sea ship, fishing for salmon in the Gulf of Alaska. Today, the 35-year-old husband and father of three enjoys recreational fishing in the tamer Chesapeake Bay.
