Danfoss Chief Reputation Officer Ole Daugbjerg to moderate executive dialogue session
The Alliance to Save Energy’s fourth annual Energy Efficiency Global Forum, an official event of EU Sustainable Energy Week, welcomes journalists covering energy and sustainability issues.

The only executive-level international conference focusing exclusively on energy efficiency, EE Global brings together executives and government officials from multiple continents to share the latest energy efficiency innovations and provide unparalleled networking opportunities. Among business executives participating in the event, Danfoss Chief Reputation Officer Ole Daugbjerg will moderate an executive dialog session on “Building Sustainable Communities: Best Practices for Deploying EE in all Facets of Daily Life.” Danfoss is a sponsor of the three-day event.

This year EE Global is an official event of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), the key annual event of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign, which contributes to achieving the EU’s 2020 climate and energy targets for greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. EUSEW draws more than 30,000 attendees and expands the pool of energy leaders who will be in Brussels during EE Global.

The lineup of nearly 90 world-class speakers now includes:
  • European Parliament Member (Denmark) and Rapporteur, Energy Efficiency Action Plan Bendt Bendtsen
  • European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek
  • Environment Correspondent, The Guardian, Fiona Harvey
  • CEO, Siemens Building Automation Dr. Hubert Keiber
  • Mayor John Marks, City of Tallahassee, Fla.
  • European Commission Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger
  • Former Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter
  • U.S. Ambassador to Bulgaria James Warlick Jr.
  • Energy Research Institute, National Development and Reform Commission Deputy Director-General Dai Yande
  • United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Executive Secretary Christiana Figueres

CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS:
The Alliance and the League of Green Embassies plan a media event unveiling an energy-efficiency makeover of the residence of U.S. Ambassador to Belgium Howard Gutman. Among others, the residence’s energy efficiency enhancements include the installation of Danfoss radiator valves, a remote control heating/cooling system and Living connect® radiator thermostats. Donated by Danfoss and installed on the radiators in the kitchen and surrounding rooms for embassy personnel and on radiators in the living quarters of the ambassador’s family, the new thermostats can reduce energy consumption by 23 percent as they provide better control and increased indoor comfort.

  • The Solutions Showcase exhibit hall will display the latest energy-efficient products and systems, offering hands-on encounters with the newest technologies and face-to-face conversations with the innovators behind them.
  • A toll-free webinar/conference call on Tuesday, April 5 at 9 a.m. EDT will take place to give journalists a sense of the project. During the call, journalists will hear from seven donor companies, including a representative from Danfoss; the Alliance to Save Energy President Kateri Callahan; and representatives of the U.S. Embassy to Belgium and League of Green Embassies. Those interested should RSVP to Ronnie Kweller at rkweller@ase.org to receive the call-in/logon information.
