Danfoss, a leading manufacturer of high efficiency electronic and mechanical components and controls for air-conditioning, heating, refrigeration and motion systems, today announced the schedule for its 2011 EnVisioneeringSM Symposia Series.
Symposium 15, titled “Efficiency & Economy: Creating a Cost Cutting Energy Efficiency Strategy,” will be held in May in Washington, D.C. The event will examine the whole building systems approach to building efficiency, as a means to cut costs at the front end, and explore the range of players in building delivery and management that can help eliminate barriers to advanced energy efficiency.
The second symposium is scheduled for November in Florida. This 16th EnVisioneering Symposium, “Creating Grid 2.0: Launching a Utility-Telecom-HVAC Strategic Smart Grid Dialogue,” will build off the conversation from the 14th Symposium held in November 2010 in Scottsdale, Ariz. The event will address the level of cooperation required among utilities, telecom and the building and HVAC industries in order to create the next generation grid – the smart grid – and will investigate what each group needs from the others in order to succeed.
“Last year, the U.S. saw an upturn in its economy and a stronger and evolving commitment to energy efficiency. This year’s EnVisioneering Symposia Series, therefore, presents a great and timely opportunity to continue to delve into the dialogue about cost-effective energy efficiency,” commented Robert Wilkins, president of Danfoss North America. “At Danfoss, we believe that energy efficiency is no longer an option. And, we’re pleased to be a part of the ongoing conversation that promotes a secure energy future by providing industry leaders a forum to discuss and exchange ideas.”
2011 marks the sixth consecutive year that Danfoss has hosted the EnVisioneering Symposia Series. The company launched the series in August 2006 to create an ongoing dialogue among industry, the policy community and thought leaders in research and development.
