Jorgen M. Clausen, Danfoss chairman of the board and former chief executive officer, received the Cleantech Pioneer Award at Cleantech Forum® XXII in Copenhagen, Denmark, on April 29.
Clausen received the award for spearheading Danfoss’s strategy to minimize the consumption of raw materials and energy in the manufacturing process. Clausen was also instrumental in Danfoss’ policy to invest in new clean technology companies.
“I’m honored to have received this award, which recognizes Danfoss’ leadership role in the area of environmental sustainability,” said Clausen. “Danfoss remains committed to minimizing the ecological and social impact of technology on local and global environments, and is grateful for an award that acknowledges our efforts.”
Clausen is the eldest son of Danfoss founder Mads Clausen, an engineer who established the company in 1933 in his parents’ attic in Nordborg, Denmark. In addition to his chairmanship, Clausen serves on the board of the Bitten and Mads Clausen Foundation, the charitable organization established by Mads Clausen.
