As a cost-efficient solution, Danfoss offers saddle sight glasses for refrigerant lines from 7/8” to 4-1/8”, suitable for all commercial system applications. Requiring only an easy single brazing operation, the saddle is brazed directly to a drilled liquid line. Then the appropriate sight glass is threaded into the saddle. A neoprene gasket between saddle and the sight glass body provides leak-tight sealing.
Moisture detection is an important feature in Danfoss sight glasses, because too much moisture in a system can cause chemical reactions and form organic acids, among other harmful reaction products. Danfoss offers saddle sight glasses with or without moisture indicator.
Even though different refrigerants have different moisture danger levels, the Danfoss type SGN has a moisture indicator that is suitable for any CFC, HCFC, or HFC refrigerant, including R-410A.
