Energy is getting more expensive and riskier to use. Broad consensus says we need to save it. Energy independence is the watchword. Energy and concern for global warming are now
inextricably linked. The technologies exist to cut use dramatically. More are on the way.
Payback times on investments in energy efficiency technology are getting shorter. Long-term
ROIs are getting bigger. The financial returns are beating Wall Street. So why isn’t the stuff
flying off the shelves?
Experience suggests that recent technological advances are simply too little known, too little
understood, too demanding of change, and too little trusted in the marketplace. Creating a 21st century culture of energy efficiency needs to start with effective steps to educate key players in the marketplace.
The sixth Danfoss EnVisioneering Symposium will focus on what is being done – and what
can be done – to educate the marketplace for cultural breakthrough in energy efficiency
technology. The dialogue will bring together designers, manufacturers, regulators, utilities,
real estate investors, owners, managers, communicators, strategists and other stakeholders
in energy efficiency technology – the doubters and the convinced. They will explore what it
takes to move the marketplace, build awareness, establish trust and drive deployment of
innovations that can tap deeply into the reservoir of potential energy savings.
The symposium will feature four sessions:
- The Built Environment: An Informed End-User Perspective
- Assessing Results: Reports from the Energy Efficiency Frontier
- Education for Energy Efficiency: Experience Abroad
- EnVisioneering Symposia: The Year in Review, What’s on Deck for 2008?
These and related issues will be at the forefront when end users and energy efficiency specialists join private sector executives to explore the challenge of effecting cultural change in energy efficiency strategy and action.
