Robust sensors that thrive in harsh environments
28 October 2008
Experienced in the manufacturer of mobile hydraulic products, Danfoss understands the demands of running machinery in extreme environments. Our components are made to withstand rugged conditions.
And the MBT 3270 temperature sensor is no exception. Perfect for heavy-duty agricultural, forestry, construction and mining machinery, the MBT 3270 temperature sensor will never let you or your operations down.
Made to withstand heat, dust and moisture
Operating hydraulic equipment in extreme environments is a challenge. Built to withstand fluctuating temperatures, moisture and high vibrations, the MBT 3270 monitors the temperature of hydraulic oil in a tank or pipeline, or engine cooling water, quickly and accurately. This unique temperature sensor can also reliably monitor:
Brake and fuel temperature
Hydraulic system temperature
Heat exchanger temperature to control fan speed
As standard, the MBT 3270 has a temperature range of -50 to +200°C. This can be upgraded to 270°C if necessary. And the sensor’s quick response time means temperature fluctuations are registered immediately – a bonus for on-the-job safety.
With the option of one of three different sensor element technologies, you can choose the specifications that best suit your needs:
RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector, Pt 100) – featuring a thin-film built-in element, this model has an extremely fast response time.
NTC (Negative Temperature Characteristics) – resistance decreases with increasing temperature
PTC (Positive Temperature Characteristics) – resistance increases with increasing temperature
Because the thermistors in the NTC and PTC versions can detect minute changes in temperature, they’re well-suited to customised controller applications. On the other hand, if you need a standardised signal, the RTD is the sensor technology to choose.
Flexible in its range of application and, above all, robust, the MBT 3270 takes reliability, safety and accuracy to new heights.
