Vaccuum Valves

Reduce energy consumption and increase endurance levels with Danfoss vacuum valves

18 July 2008
Did you know that without vacuum valves, you’d be in the dark, offline and walking? That’s right – vacuum valves are used in the manufacturing processes of many of the products we use on a daily basis like lamps, watches, electronic displays and even cars. And Danfoss can offer a comprehensive valve range to these markets.

Increased endurance and lower energy consumption

Nearly 90 percent of all new research into electronic components such as computer displays and semiconductors require vacuum processes – like those found in glovebox systems. Featuring openings for black, heavy-duty arm-length gloves, glovebox systems encapsulate a pure, inert gas in a hermetically sealed enclosure. Inside the glovebox enclosure, researchers and process technicians can manipulate intricate elements in a sterile, controlled environment. And that’s where vacuum valves come in – they help control operations and pressure regulation inside the process chamber.

Danfoss valves are now being used by a leading German glovebox manufacturer. Following an intensive research period, Danfoss developed a tailor-made interface for use in the manufacturer’s glovebox systems. This is currently being trialed in a six-month field test, where the product’s specifications and reliability will be put through its paces.

And it’s looking promising. Danfoss vacuum valves not only facilitate low-energy consumption, they also increase endurance levels, depending of course, on the glovebox system’s life cycle. And with Danfoss vacuum valves, we guarantee service-free operation for the lifetime of the product. This leaves engineers, process technicians and PhD students free to concentrate on their work and studies rather than use valuable time servicing machines.

Through these glovebox systems, Danfoss vacuum valves are assisting well known car manufacturers, electronic display and lamp manufacturers, chemical and medical industries, as well as universities, research institutes and technical colleges perform better and improve their products.
