Powerful New Software Tool Helps Estimate Harmonic Distortion in Variable Frequency Drives
26 March 2007
Danfoss Water & Wastewater introduces MCT 31 – a new software calculation tool that estimates the harmonic distortion present in a given application. This capability allows users to identify challenges and make necessary adjustments to optimize the efficiency of their variable frequency drives (VFDs). The software can calculate harmonic distortion for both Danfoss and non-Danfoss VFDs.
This latest software version allows users to enter short circuit current information, rather than transformer size and impedance when such data is unknown. Another new benefit is the removal of the system data dialog window, allowing system frequency information to be entered at the transformer data window.
System requirements include Windows 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000 SP2, or XP; 128 MB RAM above OS requirements; Pentium III CPU or higher; and 30 MB disk space.
