Pressure transmitter MBS 1800

Increase Product Life and Reduce Fuel Consumption

19 July 2011
Danfoss’ new MBS 1800 Cylinder Pressure Sensor is very well equipped to meet the harsh environment encountered in diesel and gas engines. Based on a unique crystal technology the pressure sensor offers up to 20% longer operating life – and is able to reduce fuel consumption by 2%.
The MBS 1800, the new high quality pressure sensor allows 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines to operate with a higher output than is the case today. Reduced fuel consumption, reduced maintenance costs as well as longer operating life, results in a very high return of investment.

The robust MBS 1800 comes with a variety of significant benefits:

  • Pressure range up to 250 bar
  • Overload pressure up to 300 bar
  • Temperature range up to 350° C
  • Response frequency 20 kHz
  • Natural frequency > 90 kHz
  • Reduces CO2 emission by up to 2%
  • Designed for 20,000 operating hours in severe conditions

The MBS 1800 pressure sensor is available in two versions:

  • Integrated: Sensor and amplifier in one housing
  • In-line: Sensor and charge amplifier firmly but flexibly connected by a high performance cable.

The sensor contains numerous innovative details like the Double-Shell™ housing, the inboard preload element as well as the patented Leak Proof Design™.

These patented innovations make this sensor not only the most precise but also the safest sensor available.
