Manitowoc Generates Energy Savings with Danfoss Components
Energy efficiency is on everyone’s minds these days – from component manufacturers and OEMS to end users and the general public.
When Manitowoc Foodservice Group needed an innovative, energy-efficient solution, the industry-leading ice-machine manufacturer turned to Danfoss. Applying its EnVisioneering concept — which combines engineering innovation, energy efficiency an environmental responsibility — Danfoss provided Manitowoc with custom-engineered filter dryers, compressors, expansion valves and solenoid valves for its S-Series ice machines.
The result? The ice machines are now 25% more energy efficient and more reliable. That’s good news not only for Manitowoc, but also for its end-user customers.

Engineer Banks on Danfoss Turbocor to Keep Costs in Check
Bruce Manning, chief engineer for the Operating Engineers Trust Funds, is always looking for ways to save money. That’s why he turned to Danfoss Turbocor to slash costs at the Trust Fund’s 210,000-square-foot headquarters facility in Pasadena, CA.
Manning needed an innovative solution to keep electricity costs in check. His EnVisioneering partner, Danfoss Turbocor, delivered two compact, 120-ton compressors with quiet, oil-free magnetic bearings and a variable frequency drive.
As a result, Manning saw a nearly 60% reduction in energy usage due to compressor efficiency. And he witnessed fewer DX system-effect losses and 50% less maintenance with oil-free, “Mag-Level” operation.
