Hydrocarbons are some of the key low GWP and energy efficient refrigerants that are being considered as alternative refrigerants for a number of applications.

Hydrocarbons have zero Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP), extremely low Global Warming Potential (GWP), and systems with these refrigerants are very efficient in a wide range of conditions. These refrigerants are also flammable, and that obligates special attention to safety aspects.
