Refrigerants & Energy Efficiency
CFC Phase Out
The global phase out of CFC refrigerants (e.g. R12 or R502) started back in 1993. Today it is prohibited to build or operate systems with CFCs in all developed countries while in most of Article 5 countries full ban comes in to force from 2010.
No CFC Systems in Danfoss
Danfoss does not produce nor supply any products dedicated to use with CFCs.
In case you have an old system employing one of those refrigerants, Danfoss recommends replacing the system with a new one. Both from the environmental and efficiency perspective, this is the best solution.
Drop-In Refrigerants
In case it is not possible, you can use one of the drop-in refrigerants available on the market. You can check the availability/compatibility of the components depending on the type of the chosen drop-in refrigerant from Danfoss product portfolio.
