Danfoss to Host Eleventh EnVisioneering Symposium July 24 in Washington, D.C.
25 June 2009
‘Carbon Neutral, Energy Positive’ symposium will focus on climate change and energy policy
Danfoss, one of the world's leading manufacturers of electronic and mechanical components and control systems for refrigeration and air conditioning, heating, and motion controls, will host its eleventh EnVisioneeringSM Symposium July 24 at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C.
Titled “Carbon Neutral, Energy Positive,” the symposium will bring together policy makers from key House and Senate committees, consultants, and other influential regulatory agencies with industry leaders to address climate change and energy legislation in carbon management and energy efficiency for the food chain, commercial buildings and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) industries.
The dialog between industry and policy leaders on how to contain carbon while advancing commerce will include policy expert updates on five topics:
Carbon Metrics
Cap and Trade
Refrigerant Taxes
HFC Phase Down: Domestic and Global Implications
Tax Credits and Depreciation Cycles
Speakers scheduled to address these topics include Danielle Rosengarten, Office of Senator Joseph Lieberman; Deborah Estes, Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources; Kevin Fay, principal of Alcalde & Fay, a government relations and public affairs firm; and Michael Pate, managing partner of Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, an international law firm.
“The EnVisioneering symposium – Carbon Neutral, Energy Positive – is a unique forum for HVAC/R and allied industry leaders to meet with policy makers to learn what critical energy and climate issues are being addressed in Congress, to better understand how the outcomes could affect our industry,” said Robert Wilkins, president of Danfoss Inc.
The July 24 event is the second of four national symposia that Danfoss will host this year as part of its 2009 EnVisioneering Symposia Series. The company launched the series in August 2006 to create an ongoing energy dialog among industry, the policy community and thought leaders in research and development.
