Danfoss VLT® Drives are the optimum choice for customers in the Mining industry. Available with a common user friendly interface throughout the whole range and designed with the installer and operator in mind they contribute to saving time and costs during installation, commissioning and maintenance. This, combined with their robust, rugged design, inclusion of harmonic and EMC filters and ability to be installed with long motor cables as standard ensures long life and reliable operation of the VSD in typical arduous mining and processing plant applications.
Being designed for long motor cable installations as standard typically results in a more compact solution compared to variable speed drives that need to add options to operate reliably with long motor cables. This often results in considerable initial cost savings as a result of being able to use smaller air conditioned switchrooms.

The high efficiency and resulting low losses from Danfoss VLT Drives can have a considerable impact on the operating cost and environmental impact of the drives installed. Depending on mine site conditions, the added ability to simply utilise outside air to remove 85% of the drives heat loss instead of exhaust it into the air conditioned switchroom can result in smaller, lower cost air conditioning units for the switchrooms along with considerably lower operating costs of that air conditioning.
