2009 – a challenging year for Danfoss

  • Sales fell by 7% to 25,653m DKK compared to 27,535m DKK in 2008. When calculated at last year's exchange rate and adjusted for acquisitions and divestments, growth was −12% in comparison to 2% in 2008.
  • The result before other operating income and expenses fell to −270m DKK in comparison to 687m DKK the previous year. The result before other operating income and expenses for Danfoss (excluding Sauer-Danfoss) was 584m DKK.
  • Adjusted EBIT was −1,573m compared to 891m DKK in 2008.
  • Operating profit (EBIT) was −1,990m DKK compared to 410m DKK the previous year. The same figure for Danfoss (excluding Sauer-Danfoss) was 48m DKK.
  • Profit before tax was −1,705m DKK as against −125m DKK in 2008.
  • The result for the year was a loss of 1,402m DKK, compared to a loss of 157m DKK in 2008.
  • Free cash flow was 785m DKK compared to −3,115m DKK last year, whereas free cash flow before M&A amounted to 1,727m DKK compared to −639m DKK in 2008.
  • The proposed dividend rate is 0%.
