The appointment follows a restructuring which, among others, means that Danfoss’ legal department and the corporate function for risk management and compliance are merged under Danfoss’ General Counsel Anders Stahlschmidt. Thereby, Danfoss takes another step in strengthening the internal follow-up on compliance with legislation and internal rules. Anders Stahlschmidt will report directly to CEO Niels B. Christiansen.
”We have a strong intention to fundamentally strengthen these areas. The distressing case where senior employees in one of our subsidiaries participated in improper price agreements in the household compressor market has accentuated the need to further tighten up and develop our procedures. This is exactly what we are doing with the new structure,” CEO Niels B. Christiansen says.
Earlier this year, Danfoss began strengthening the efforts by establishing an independent internal audit function, which may pay unannounced visits to all parts of the Danfoss business. This is to ensure that irregularities are disclosed as early as possible, so they can be countered effectively.
The handling of Danfoss media relations, that Ole Daugbjerg handed over to Markela Dedopoulos, Vice President of Corporate Communication, in May, will not be affected by the changes.
